As part of the Kinfolk community, we're proud to offer hunting opportunities on two private properties, exclusively for mentors and mentees who have participated in at least one of our hunting events. This is your space to continue learning, connect with the land, and put your skills into practice.

The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy has many preserves in NY that allow hunting through their hunting program.

Columbia Land Conservancy

The Columbia Land Conservancy has multiple preserves in Columbia County NY that allow hunting and welcome the Kinfolk Hunting community.

Public Land

NYS DEC Lands

Many state lands, including Wildlife Management Areas, State Forests, Forest Preserve and State Parks are open for hunting and trapping during the appropriate seasons.

NYC DEP Recreation Units

With more than 135,000 acres of land and water open for recreation, NYCDEP Recreation Units provide extensive opportunities to hunt and fish. For more information, including maps and information on getting a free recreation permit, see: Hunting & Trapping - DEP

NY State Parks

There are 81 parks, 3 historic sites, 3 golf courses and 50 boat launches that provide chances to hunt a variety of different wildlife including big game, small game, turkey, furbearers, waterfowl and migratory bird species.

Connecticut Public Hunting Areas

Nearby Connecticut also offers numerous opportunities for public land hunting. While hunting in Connecticut will require a separate hunting license from New York, it can provide additional opportunities for those based in the NY Metro area.
