Learning to handle a firearm can feel like a tall mountain to climb, especially if you didn’t grow up in a hunting household. At Kinfolk Hunting Collective, we believe that building confidence with a shotgun should happen in a space where you feel supported, respected, and safe.
Join us on March 28th for a day of sporting clays. Whether you’ve never held a shotgun before or you're looking to shake off the rust before the next season, this session is designed for you.
The Experience: While we are here to learn, make no mistake—sporting clays is incredibly fun. Often described as "golf with a shotgun," it’s a dynamic, fast-paced way to spend a day in the woods. There’s a unique thrill in tracking a clay as it flies through the air and the satisfying "crunch" when you make a solid hit. We’ll be walking the course together, cheering each other on, and enjoying the camaraderie that makes this community so special.
What we’ll cover:
Safety First: Comprehensive instruction on safe firearm handling and range etiquette.
Fundamentals: Understanding shotgun mechanics, stance, and "the lead" (predicting where the bird will be).
Wing Shooting Practice: Hands-on coaching as we move through the course, simulating real-world hunting scenarios.
The Details:
When: March 28 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Where: Mid-Hudson Sporting Clays
Capacity: Limited to 15 mentees
Gear: Don’t have a gun? No problem. We will have shotguns available for use.
Cost: While the mentorship is free, mentees are responsible for their own clays and ammunition (you can purchase at the event). Please expect to spend between $100 – $150 depending on the volume of shooting.
This event is open to all 18 and older.
Come as you are. You aren’t a guest here—you’re kin.
